Get involved

Find your way to help

Schools, organisations and individuals all help an outreach happen. Invite us to your school, partner with us, volunteer or give support. Whichever you choose, it starts with a simple email or call.

For teachers and school leaders

Invite us to your school

We bring Her Health Matters to girls in secondary school: a friendly session on growing up, periods, hygiene and staying safe. It’s free for your school and every girl who takes part.

  • What a visit involves

    • Before we come, girls read our free online guide on a phone.
    • We agree a date and time that fits your timetable.
    • A relaxed, open session at your school, where every question is welcome.
    • Girls who would rather not ask out loud can use an anonymous question box.
    • Teachers and parents can read the guide too, including a section just for them.
  • What helps us plan

    • A room big enough for the group
    • A time slot during the school day
    • A member of staff we can plan with
    • Parental consent, in line with your school’s policy

How to ask

Email or call us with your school’s name, where it is and which classes you have in mind. We’ll get back to you to agree a date.

For organisations and businesses

Partner with us on outreach

Every outreach needs people, places and practical help. If your organisation shares our aims, there are plenty of ways to work together.

Something else in mind? We’re open to ideas, so tell us yours.

Fund an outreach
Help cover what a school visit needs, such as printed materials, transport and the supplies we use in sessions.
Host or co-run an outreach
Schools, faith groups, community groups and youth organisations can open their doors or run an outreach with us.
Lend your expertise
Health workers can help review what we teach or join a session to answer questions. Educators can help shape how we teach it.
Give practical support
Printing, transport, a venue or equipment can make an outreach possible. Talk to us about what you could offer.

How partnering with us works

No long forms. It starts with a conversation.

  1. Step 1:

Tell us how you’d like to help

  2. Step 2:

    We agree the plan together

  3. Step 3:

    The outreach goes ahead

  4. Step 4:

We tell you plainly how it went

For individuals

Volunteer your time and skills

Our outreach runs on people who care. You don’t need to be a health professional to help: tell us what you’re good at, and we’ll talk about where you could fit in.

Who we’d love to hear from

Health workers
Nurses, doctors, midwives and community health workers who can help answer girls’ questions or review what we teach.
Teachers and youth workers
People who know how to keep a session warm, relaxed and on track.
Women mentors
Women who can share honest, encouraging experience with girls who are growing up.
Organisers
Planners who can help with supplies, travel and keeping the day on time.
Photographers and designers
Creative people who can help us share our work with care and respect.
Willing helpers
If you’re kind, reliable and keen to help, there’s a place for you.

How volunteering works

  1. Get in touch by email or phone and tell us a little about yourself.
  2. We talk about how you’d like to help and the time you can give.
  3. We let you know when an outreach needs you.

Give support

Every gift starts with a conversation

We don’t take donations through this website. Instead, we arrange every gift with you personally, by email or phone.

Give in kind

Sanitary pads, soap, printing and other practical things can help an outreach. Please talk to us before you buy anything, so we can tell you what’s needed right now.

Give money

Email or call us and we’ll arrange it with you personally. We’ll explain how your gift will be used before you give.

If anyone asks you for money in our name, check with us first using the email address or phone number on this page.

Questions before you start

Not sure which way suits you? Email or call us and we’ll talk it through.

Does a school visit cost anything?

No. Her Health Matters sessions and the online guide are free for girls and their schools.

Which schools do you visit?

Schools that invite us. If you're a teacher or school leader, invite us to your school and we'll talk about what would work for your girls.

Do volunteers need to be health professionals?

No. We'd love to hear from nurses, doctors and other health workers, but teachers, mentors, organisers, photographers and designers can all help too. Tell us what you're good at and the time you can give.

Can I donate money online?

Not yet. We don't take payments through this website. To give money, email us or call +234 906 527 9245, and we'll arrange it with you personally and explain how it will be used.
