About us

A leap toward a new horizon

OrizonLeap Foundation is a young non-profit in Benin City, Nigeria. We take clear information and practical help to people where they are, starting with girls’ health in secondary schools.

Our story

Why we go to people

Too often, the information and support people need doesn’t reach them. Young people learn about their own bodies from rumours, or go without the basics they need to feel healthy and confident. So rather than waiting for people to find us, we go to them.

We’re starting small, on purpose. Our first outreach, Her Health Matters, visits secondary schools to talk with girls about periods, hygiene and their health. We’d rather do one thing well, learn from it and grow carefully from there.

  • Orizon

    A better future, within sight

From “horizon”: the better future people can see but can’t quite reach yet.

  • Leap

The step that brings it closer

The brave, practical step that brings that future closer. We exist to help people take it.

Our mission and vision

To bring clear information and practical help to people where they are.

Our mission
To bring clear information and practical help to people where they are, starting with health and hygiene education for girls in school.
Our vision
Communities where every young person has the knowledge, support and confidence to look after their health and reach for their horizon.

How we work

Simple principles we keep to

They shape every outreach, from the first conversation with a school to the day itself.

  • We come to you

Classrooms and community spaces, the places people already gather. Nobody should have to travel far to learn how to stay well.

  • We share the details first

Each outreach has its own page, so people know what we'll cover and what to expect before we arrive.

  • We stick to trusted health information

Our health content follows guidance from trusted bodies such as WHO and UNICEF, and is written to be accurate, age-appropriate and safe.

  • We're open with partners

We tell partners plainly what we're doing, what it costs and how their support is spent.

Our values

What guides us

Clarity
Plain words and honest facts, so everyone can understand and act on what they learn.
Dignity
We treat every person with respect. Questions are always welcome; shame never is.
Practicality
Help should be useful today, not just nice to hear.
Partnership
We work with schools, health workers and communities, not around them.
Accountability
We say what we'll do, we do it, and we're honest about how it went.
